Our Favorite Summer Activities

As the weather warms up and summer begins, we are hoping and praying that we get to see all of your smiling faces soon! With that being said, we wanted to share a few things that we can’t WAIT to get back to. Summer activities at the Lake of the Ozarks are the highlight of the season, and we are so excited to make memories and enjoy family fun. Without further ado, here are a few of our FAVORITE summer activities at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Ride the Waves at Big Surf Waterpark

There’s nothing quite like getting out of your car on a warm summer morning, grabbing the kids and the swim bags, hearing the rushing sounds of water, and smelling the faint aroma of sunscreen. These are what memories are made of, and it’s one reason why we love Big Surf Waterpark so much. Whether you enjoy riding the waves in the wave pool, zooming down Zambezi Falls, or swirling down the space bowl - summer memories happen here.

If you’re looking for a fun way to get the summer started, don’t forget to order your new color-changing OFFICIAL 2020 Big Surf cup! you can receive $1.99 fountain refills all summer long. They are only available for a limited time, so reserve yours on their website today!

Dancing to the Music at the Ozarks Amphitheater

Sure, you can try and duplicate the feeling at home, go outside on a warm night, turn on your favorite tunes, and keep an ice-cold drink in your hand while you sway to the music … but it’s just not the same. There’s just something about the ambiance when you enjoy a live concert at the Ozarks Amphitheater. No one really knows what the summer is going to look like right now, but we are hopeful that everyone will be gathering once again to celebrate the love of music and the love of the Lake of the Ozarks. If you have tickets to any 2020 events at the Ozarks Amphitheater, follow their Facebook page and visit their website to get continual updates about schedule changes or cancelations.

If you’re looking for something fun to do while finishing out the stay at home orders, you can watch your favorite music every night on the Ozark Amphitheater Facebook page! Supper Time Serenade happens every night at 6pm through the stay at home orders, and it’s a fun way to enjoy music and even learn about some new musicians you may not have heard of!

Standing in Awe at Bridal Cave

It’s a little dark and wet, but all of your senses are heightened as you stand in the Bridal Cave. You can hear drips of water, feel the perfectly cool, always constant 60º air on your skin, you will learn a LOT about caves and Ozark history when you take a tour through the Bridal Cave. They offer guided tours every few minutes and they will last approximately one hour. Roaming through room after room admiring the giant columns, delicate soda straws, and massive draperies make this a memory that will last a lifetime! When you’re done caving, your kids can do a little mining at Thunder Mountain Mining Co. or you can wander through the gift shop and find unique and beautiful gifts and mementos.

Currently, the Bridal Cave is temporarily closed, but they are anxiously looking forward to the day that they can reopen and share their precious natural wonder with their guests.

Ready for Summer?

We are too!! We don’t know what this summer will look like, but we hope that we will get to see your smiling faces and make many more summer memories at the Lake of the Ozarks with you! Even if you can’t make your trip right now, this is the PERFECT time to start planning your summer vacation and events. Make your list, check it twice, and whether you’re naughty or nice, we hope that you’re doing well, staying healthy, and we can’t wait to see you!
